AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

HAHA! I'm the happiest teacher today! =)) Today is indeed the day I want to re-live in case someone offers me a choice to. I must say I'm easily contented. As long as the students do not have any careless mistakes in their daily assignments/do not give me any mitsy problems, I'm contented. Well, this very student of mine was extra-ordinary NAGGING! yes. A P4 guy student really can get onto any teacher's nerve pls! He nags about EVERYTHING! And that is not an overstatement at all! To be exact, an understatement. He nags about his school work, nags about the difficulty of his assignments, nag about his toys, liquid paper, pencial case ANYTHING!! And he has to sit in front of me cause he happens to be the most talkative one. So, I have to shout at him for up to 3 times a day!! And just for that 2 hours with him.

He is in West Grove and they happen to have NAFA for these past 2 weeks. I have to take them to school as I'm free during that hour. I asked him whether he can get gold or not cause for last year, he only got silver. But! as usual, he nags and complains that it is TOO tough to get it due to his 1.6km run. So I asked him to do his best for the 5 stations first. Well, he did me proud by improving on his shuttle-run. I didnt think a lot about this and I let it pass. Today was his 1.6km run. As usual, I took him to school and we talked about his timing for it. Well, he told me he has never ran below 11mins and his worse timing was 12mins plus. The school's best timing for his cohort was 9mins plus. I was surprised but I asked if he can run within 11mins. As usual, he nags and complained that it was too difficult. I asked him try not to walk for this time round. Well, I didnt expect him to listen to me anyway cause he never did in my class. And so, back to the student centre I went. I didnt expect him to reach there earlier than 4.45pm but to my surprise, he reached the student centre at 4pm!! His face was so red that it was obvious he ran back from school despite having stern warnings from the teacher-in-charge not to.

After scoldings, I asked him for his timing and guess what?? He was the 2nd in cohort and his timing was 10mins plus!! Apparently, he took my advice not to walk. At that point in time, I was so overwhelmed that I have nothing to say. To say that I was touched was seriously an understatement. The student who was always talking back to me, always parroting whatever I've said, annoyed me to my bones actually did me proud. Actually followed what I told him to and achieve something beyond what he expects. The satisfaction I get was too much that I have to pour it out here!! In this empty space for me to remember by. I still find it hard to believe that he took my work seriously. Looking back at all the assignments he have done, he was the one who have improved tremendously despite his verbal diarrhea. And I have overlooked it because of his behavior in class. I feel upset that I've overlooked him but, this is something that I've learnt and so, will improve on.
